A woman with shoulder-length reddish brown hair and blue eyes, sitting in a dimly lit restaurant or cafe, wearing a white T-shirt, with a bright and friendly expression on her face.

Hi, my name is Maryana. I’m a multidisciplinary creative based in Japan, working across architecture, photography, and place research.

In photography, I approach the camera as a tool for observation, reflection and empathy, drawn to the expression of daily life. My work unfolds across Japan and Europe, documenting moments where structure meets emotion, and place becomes a language of its own. I create candid, atmospheric portraits and couple photoshoots with a documentary sensibility in urban and natural settings.

I hold a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto (FAUP), with over 10 years of professional experience. I’m a part of the architectural duo YKAA.

My work is featured on Lomography, Divisare, ArchDaily, and Plot.
